In recent years with new additions to the family our cooking includes, English, Pakistani, Italian and Irish influences.

Sunday Lunch: Bharazi and Mandazi
Bharazi; spicy pigeon peas in a coconut sauce with Manadazi; cococnut bread
Asak. We are also from Uganda. My mom's side is from Jinja. Dad's side from Kampala. Both sides were at least fourth generation Ugandans when we came to the States during Amin's time.
This is one of my favorite dishes. Your recipes are the closest I've seen to my mother's. Thank you for your blog and for sharing your recipes. I can give my poor mom a break now and just look at your recipes :-)
