Muhri wara Bateta / Black Pepper Potatoes

I have had some many request for this recipe, so here you are, enjoy.  This was made regularly in our kitchen in Kampala, I still love it.

12 new potatoes; washed and cut into halves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped coriander

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the potatoes, saute until cooked
  2. Add the black pepper and salt, mix.
  3. Garnish with the coriander

  1. I love to make fish, and have been doing for years but Tilapia fillets get broken while frying, how can I overcome that.

  2. Two things,
Coat the fish with flour and have a hot nonstick frying pan.
Also if it is not skinned, place that side down on the frying pan.

  5. I bet a Firm Fish like Cod or Halibut will work better that Tilapia as the Tilapia we get in USA is that farm raised from China and just not as good as the Uganda one..But the Black Pepper Bateta will go good with any thing even BBQ Chicken or Mishkaki...
